MICHAEL ROSE,

Michael Rose was an award winning author, journalist and filmmaker, who’s produced over 200 documentary television programs.

He has the distinction of writing, producing and directing the very first program to air on the History Channel. His programs have aired on numerous networks and been licensed in over 100 countries. 

 Based in Los Angeles, he’s served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the International Documentary Association and is a member of the Director's Guild of America and the Writers Guild West.  He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Theater, Film and Television Department of UCLA.  He’s a contributing editor to Documentary Magazine and writes for the Huffington Post, and was at work on his second book, tracing the history of Look magazine.

GAYLEN ROSS, DIRECTOR

Gaylen Ross has directed and produced documentary films for over 25 years, premiering in national and international film festivals. She has had two films previously in the Berlin International Film Festival: the Emmy award-winning "Blood Money: Switzerland’s Nazi Gold, " a feature-length documentary on the Swiss Banks and the Holocaust accounts, and the film she directed on diamond dealers" Dealers Among Dealers" aired on PBS’ P.O.V and is considered the only inside look into this very cloistered world.

Among her films she directed, "Killing Kasztner: The Jew Who Dealt With Nazis," was an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival, broadcast BBC Storyville, shown in 11 countries and has enjoyed an unprecedented theatrical release in the US, Israel and France. It was named by the LA Times as one of the best documentary films of 2010. And as director, her film "Caris' Peace" about an actress who lost her memory premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival, won first place Athens Film Festival, Ohio; and presented as the featured film for the Rubin Museum of Art’s Brainwave series in New York. Most recently she co-directed two documentaries about China, "Beijing Spring," and "Ximei," also Executive Produced by Ai Weiwei, and in post-production on TitleShot, a documentary of the boxing quest of Junior Middleweight Godfrey Nyakana.

CAROL KING, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Carol King, is first and foremost a long time proponent of women’s rights. A Detroit native, she was active in government, public policy and politics for 25 years, as a staff person, advocate, candidate, and consultant.

She was inducted into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame in 2008 in recognition of her contributions to the Women’s Movement.

Since moving to California, King has been working as an Executive Producer with her husband, Michael Rose, in their boutique production company specializing in factual programming for television.  She’s overseen development, production, post-production and distribution of countless programs delivered to numerous networks around the world.

Her desire is to use media to tell stories that move us to work for a more equal and just society for everyone.
